Water-cooled motors from WINKELMANN

The permanently excited synchronous motors  with water-jacket cooling combine compact design with high power density. The cooling medium efficiently dissipates heat losses, allowing the motors to operate reliably even under demanding operating conditions. The extracted heat can also be economically recovered and reused in heating or hot-water systems.

AC synchronous permanent magnet motors benefit particularly from water cooling. High-quality permanent magnet rotor materials ensure stable performance characteristics and a long service life, while ceramic hybrid spindle bearings guarantee low maintenance requirements even at very high speeds and during rapid load changes. The robust water-cooled design ensures maximum efficiency, precision, and reliability.

AC asynchronous motors can also be optionally equipped with water cooling. This increases thermal capacity, enables precise temperature control, and improves energy efficiency without compromising the proven advantages of the asynchronous machine such as robustness, low maintenance requirements, and flexible adaptability.
 

Technical features and design characteristics

The motors cover a power range from 1.5 kW to 500 kW and are available in frame sizes 90 to 250. The water-jacket cooling system (IC 71W) ensures efficient heat dissipation even at very high speeds of over 20,000 rpm, allowing both three-phase asynchronous motors and permanently excited synchronous motors to operate reliably in continuous duty.

Asynchronous AC motors are characterized by robustness, low-maintenance operation, and flexible adaptation options. Large field-weakening ranges, high short-term speeds, and customized electrical parameters such as voltage, frequency, or control characteristics enable precise load changes and exact adaptation to test bench conditions. Mechanical options such as special bearings, encoders, or braking systems ensure seamless integration into existing installations.

AC synchronous permanent magnet motors provide an additional advantage through their particularly high efficiency, enabling significant energy savings in continuous operation. The combination of liquid-cooled rotor design, high rotational speeds, and compact construction ensures maximum power density, precise speed control, and reliable performance even in demanding high-load applications.
