Applications: Shop- und Witnesstests
Acceptance test and quality control
As part of our comprehensive quality assurance process, we perform a thorough acceptance test for all electric motors. During this process, the previously recorded measurement data from electrical, mechanical, and thermal tests are carefully reviewed and documented. The objective of the acceptance test is to ensure that the motor reliably meets all technical specifications as well as the agreed performance parameters.
The acceptance test can be carried out internally as part of our shop tests, or together with the customer as a witness test. In both cases, our modern test benches, advanced measurement systems, and qualified specialists ensure that all relevant test parameters are precisely recorded and evaluated.
Through this structured acceptance testing of electric motors, our customers can be confident that each motor has been fully tested prior to delivery and complies with all required quality and performance standards.
Shop tests – internal motor testing at WINKELMANN Electric Motors
At WINKELMANN Electric Motors, the quality and performance of our drive solutions are our top priority. For this reason, we operate our own modern electric motor test field, where both AC motors and DC motors are comprehensively tested.
On six high-performance motor test benches, we examine different motor frame sizes and analyze their product characteristics. These shop tests ensure that every motor meets our quality and performance standards before it is delivered to the customer.
For testing high-speed electric motors, we use special frequency converters that enable speeds of up to 25,000 rpm. A range of different load machines allows us to perform load tests and temperature rise tests, which are recorded as a complete motor performance curve.
Additional electrical testing procedures can also be carried out in our test field, including surge voltage tests to verify the electrical strength and insulation quality of the motors.
In addition to electrical and mechanical testing, the mechanical dimensions of the electric motors are carefully verified. In our calibration area, the relevant dimensional and fit data are precisely measured to ensure that all components comply with the specified technical requirements.
This includes checking important connection dimensions, shaft dimensions, and other functionally relevant geometries. By using calibrated measuring equipment and modern measurement technology, we guarantee high measurement accuracy and reproducible results. This additional dimensional inspection ensures that the motors not only operate correctly from an electrical and mechanical perspective, but can also be integrated perfectly into the intended systems and applications.
Through these internal shop tests for electric motors, we guarantee maximum quality, reliability, and operational safety for all our products.
Witness tests – customer-supervised acceptance testing
In addition to internal testing, we offer our customers the opportunity to accompany the acceptance testing of their electric motor directly in our test field. These so-called witness tests provide transparent and traceable quality verification.
During the witness test, customers can follow the entire testing process live and personally verify the performance, speed stability, and load capacity of their motor. This provides direct insight into the measurement procedures, testing methods, and recorded test results.
One of the key advantages of a witness test is the maximum transparency and confidence it provides to the customer. By personally attending the tests, individual requirements or customer-specific testing criteria can be verified directly. At the same time, the witness test offers the opportunity to clarify technical questions with our engineers and review measurement results together.
In this way, customers gain the assurance before delivery that their electric motor meets all agreed performance and quality requirements and operates reliably under realistic test conditions.
